Tandro, a service operated by Tandro LLC (“Tandro,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Tandro mobile application, website, waitlist, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Service, which outline the rules and responsibilities for using the platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and information obtained from third parties.

When using Tandro, you may provide information including:

  • Phone number

  • Login credentials
  • City or general location
  • Meetup preferences
  • Messages or communications with us
  • Photos and Media (optional)

Tandro may allow users to upload or share photos within the Service, including:

  • Profile photos
  • Event or meetup photos
  • Images shared within user interactions

If you choose to upload photos, we may collect and store those images as part of your user profile or content shared through the platform.

Photos may be visible to other users depending on how they are shared within the Service.

Photos are used to:

  • Display user profiles
  • Enhance meetup coordination and event experiences
  • Enable users to share experiences with other participants

Users are responsible for ensuring that any photos they upload do not violate the rights or privacy of others.

If payments are offered within the Service in the future, payment information will be processed through secure third-party payment providers, and Tandro will not store full payment card details.

Location Information

Because Tandro helps people coordinate midpoint meetup locations, we may collect location-related information such as:

  • City
  • Approximate geographic location
  • User-selected meetup destinations

Location information helps provide recommendations for meeting locations, venues, and experiences.

Users control location permissions through their device settings.

Precise Location Sharing and ETA (Optional)

Tandro may provide optional features that allow users to share real-time location and estimated arrival time (ETA) with other participants in a meetup.

If you enable these features, we may temporarily process:

  • Precise GPS location
  • Real-time device location
  • Estimated arrival time to a meetup location

This information is used only to:

  • Help meetup participants coordinate arrival
  • Provide ETA updates
  • Improve meetup logistics

Precise location sharing is optional and only active when you choose to enable it. Other users may see location information or ETA if you choose to share it as part of a meetup.

You may stop location sharing at any time within the app or through your device settings.

Tandro does not track users’ precise location continuously when the feature is disabled.

Contact Information Access (Optional)

Tandro may offer features that allow you to connect with friends or invite contacts.

If you grant permission, the app may access contacts stored on your device, including:

  • Names
  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses

This information may be used to:

  • Help you invite contacts to join Tandro
  • Identify contacts who may already be using the platform
  • Suggest connections within the Service

Tandro will not send messages to your contacts without your explicit action.

Contact information is not permanently stored unless a user account is created or an invitation is sent.

You may revoke contact access permissions at any time through your device settings.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.

This may include:

  • IP address
  • Device type
  • Browser type
  • Operating system
  • Pages viewed
  • Time and date of visits
  • Time spent on pages
  • App interactions
  • Unique device identifiers

This data helps us improve the functionality, security, and performance of the Service.

We may also analyze aggregated usage trends to improve the Service.

4. SMS Communications

When you sign up or log in using a phone number, Tandro sends one-time SMS verification codes to confirm your identity. By providing your phone number during signup, you consent to receive these SMS messages from Tandro.

Purpose: SMS is used solely for account authentication (one-time verification codes during signup and login). Tandro does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.

Message frequency: Messages are sent only in response to your actions (signup or login attempts). Typical frequency is 1–5 messages per user per month, depending on account activity.

Cost: Standard message and data rates may apply, as determined by your mobile carrier. Tandro is not responsible for carrier charges.

Opt-out: You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from Tandro. Opt-outs are processed automatically and immediately. After opting out, you will no longer be able to authenticate using SMS; you may continue using the app by signing in with email or a supported third-party login.

Data handling: Phone numbers collected for SMS verification are stored securely and used only for authentication purposes. We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information in the following situations:

Service Providers

We may share data with trusted providers that help operate the Service, including:

  • Cloud hosting providers
  • Analytics services
  • Email communication platforms
  • Payment processors
  • Customer support providers

These partners are required to maintain appropriate security and confidentiality protections.

With Other Users

  • Meetup participation
  • Location or ETA (only if you choose to share it)

Users should exercise discretion when sharing personal information.  

Users may also report unsafe behavior or policy violations to help maintain the safety of the platform.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required to:

  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Respond to lawful requests from public authorities
  • Protect the rights or safety of users or the public
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our policies

Business Transfers

If Tandro is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset sale, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce agreements

When information is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymize it.

Tandro does not use your contacts for marketing purposes and does not send invitations without your direct action.

However, no system can guarantee complete security.

9. How to Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your Tandro account at any time. Account deletion is final and cannot be undone.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove the following from our systems:

  • Your profile information, including name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and bio
  • Your location data
  • Your synced contacts
  • Any rankings or suggestions you submitted to events
  • Any active events you organized — these will be cancelled and participants will be notified

Some information may be retained in anonymized form so other users' experience is not disrupted. For example, chat messages you sent during past events will remain visible to other participants but will be attributed to "Deleted user" rather than your name.

How to delete your account from inside the app

  1. Open the Tandro app
  2. Go to your Profile tab
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Basic Info section
  4. Tap "Delete Account" and confirm

Deletion is processed immediately. You will be logged out and your data will be removed from our systems within 30 days.

How to request deletion if you no longer have the app

If you have uninstalled Tandro or cannot access the app, you can request account deletion using our online form:

Data retention exceptions

We may retain certain information after account deletion when required by law, for fraud prevention, or to comply with legal obligations. Any retained data will be stored securely and used only for these specific purposes.

10. Age Requirement

Tandro is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

By creating an account or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.

If we become aware that an individual under the age of 18 has created an account or provided personal information through the Service, we will take steps to remove that information and terminate the account.

If you believe that someone under the age of 18 has provided personal information to Tandro, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
